The Office of Economic Affairs in HUD’s Office of Policy Development and Research recently placed a job posting for a (new graduate or mid-career) economist
to work in its Housing Finance Analysis Division. The primary responsibility of the hire will be development and review of the leading-edge credit scoring algorithms deployed by the Federal Housing Administration for approval of mortgage insurance applications. This work will implicate fair lending and social equity matters. The hires will also have flexibility to pursue or oversee original applied research on topics in the Division’s mandate: single- and multi-family finance, homeownership, and the secondary mortgage market. Hires will have opportunities to contribute to policy development and pursue publication and participation in conferences.
