The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is the strongest privacy law to date and gives consumer more control over their personal data and holds covered business more accountable for protecting the data they collect and process.
In this course, you will learn about the many new business obligations set forth in the CCPA, such the duty to provide various notices to consumers, including notices at or before data collection, updating consumer facing materials such as website privacy policies, the handling of consumer requests to opt-out, request to know, and request to delete. It will also cover the various CCPA exemption. Companies who violate the CCPA may not only face enforcement actions, but consumers can also file a civil action to enforce the CCPA following a data breach.
