Overview
As a company that handles information relating to consumers, it is important that you deal fairly and openly with consumers and that your products and services provide real value to your customers.
This UDAAP 101 course was developed to help employees identify sources of potentially unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices (UDAAP), create an awareness of UDAAP-related responsibilities, and offer guidance on preventing UDAAP violations. The course delves extensively into the basics of the law and the criteria that qualify business practices as unfair, deceptive, and abusive.
Additionally, we’ll take a closer look at the two primary sources of UDAAP prohibitions: Section 5 0f the Federal Trade Commission Act and Title X of the Dodd Frank Act, also known as the Consumer Financial Protection Act or CFPA. These provisions are enforced by the FTC, as well as by the banking agencies.
