Over the last couple of weeks there has been a dramatic increase in momentum for federal privacy legislation. On June 3rd, H.R. 8152, the American Data Privacy and Protection Act (ADPPA) was introduced and this legislation would be the first comprehensive privacy proposal to gain bipartisan, bicameral support.

ADPPA would establish a national standard to protect consumer data privacy, imposes obligations on covered entities, and allows for federal, state, and individual enforcement. The bill would also establish a new Bureau of Privacy at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) as the regulator to enforce the bill at the federal level.

Join top privacy experts, Kim Phan, Partner, Troutman Pepper, and Jordan Crenshaw, Vice President, Technology Engagement Center, US Chamber of Commerce and moderators, Eric Ellman, Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Legal Affairs, and Owen Dodd, Manager of Government Relations at the Consumer Data Industry Association for this important webinar as they discuss the key components of the bill, its ability to become law, and the critical implications of a federal privacy law on the entire ecosystem.
