The National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL) approved a resolution in support of common-sense criminal background checks for transportation network company drivers (TNCs), like Lyft and Uber, that include name-based criminal background checks from private companies.  The resolution said that a mandate of fingerprint-based background checks has a “disproportionate[] burden [on] communities of color who wish to participate in the new economic opportunities generated by TNC innovations…”
