In July 2022, CDIA wrote to the U.S. House Financial Services Committee to offer our perspective on two amendments the Committee was preparing to mark up at its July 27, 2022 meeting. CDIA offered comments on the “Credit Reporting Accuracy After a Legal Name Change Act” and the“Expanding Access to Credit through Consumer-Permissioned Data Act.”
For the markup, the committee took up, among other things,
- H.R. 8485, the Expanding Access to Credit through Consumer-Permissioned Data Act, an amendment in the nature of a substitute, no. 9, offered by Rep. Nikema Williams (D-GA).
- H.R. 8478, the Credit Reporting Accuracy After a Legal Name Change Act, an amendment in the nature of a substitute, no. 10, offered by Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA)
