CDIA is pleased to announce that Samuel Levine, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, will join as a keynote speaker for the 2023 Law and Industry Conference. Mr. Levine’s work at the FTC includes overseeing enforcement, rulemaking, and policy work across a wide range of areas, including privacy, data security, financial services, consumer reporting, and more. Before his appointment as Director, he served as an attorney advisor to former Commissioner Rohit Chopra and as a staff attorney in the Midwest Regional Office.

The Bureau of Consumer Protection plays a key role in data practices and beyond, and we are honored to have its Director join us. Mr. Levine will address the FTC’s priorities regarding privacy, data security, data brokers, combatting unfair or deceptive practices, limiting unlawful commercial surveillance, and its recent launch of the Office of Technology.
