A photo of Mary T. Floyd, an active member of credit reporting for decades, Floyd was elected in 1981 as the president of Credit Women International.  Floyd is shown here in the Interstate Brass Foundry in Oregon, where she was office manager and credit manager.  Credit Women International originated in the Credit Reporting Company of Portland in Oregon in 1929 and it started as the Credit Women’s Breakfast Club (CWBC).  Edith Shaw Johnson, employed by the Retail Credit Bureau in Portland, Ore., gave life to the CWBC.

According to Credit Professionals International, “[t]he purpose for organizing CWBC was the belief that through Local, State, District and International group effort, women holding positions in the retail credit profession should become articulate as an organized body, thereby making possible the promotion of their common interests and the contribution of their common interests.”
