In July 2011, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) started down a long road to examine arrest and conviction records as a barrier to hiring.  The EEOC issued a press release announcing its hearing.  In connection with that hearing, CDIA submitted comments in July 2011 and in August 2011.  In April 2012, the EEOC released it’s guidance, Enforcement Guidance on the Consideration of Arrest and Conviction Records in Employment Decisions under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
