In 2016, Washington became the first state in the country to pass a law permitting portable/reusable tenant screening reports. This law defines a “comprehensive reusable tenant screening report” (Wash. Code Sec. 59.18.030(4)), and permits the use of these reusable tenant screening reports in Sec. 59.18.257.
The law was introduced as S.B. 6413 and H.B. 2811. The senate bill was signed and it became Ch. 66, Laws 2016.
