In August 2020, CDIA filed a comment with the Nevada Commissioner of Insurance to express concern with proposed LCB File No. R087-20 recently issued by the commissioner’s office. In January 2021, the Nevada Department of Insurance proposed regulation (LCB File No. R087-20) was adopted by the Legislative Commission (following DOI’s approval), the vote passed 7-5. The final regulation prohibits adverse underwriting decisions based on changes in credit occurring on or after March 1, 2020 until 2 years after the COVID-19 state emergency declaration ends.
