In 2021, Maryland became the second state in the country, following Washington, to pass a law allowing for portable tenant screening reports. The bills that passed were S.B. 691 and H.B. 861. The bills were chaptered as Ch. 784, Laws 2021. The bills created a new section of law, Real Prop. § 8-218 (reusable tenant screening reports).
