In April 2021, CDIA wrote to the House Committee on Pensions, Investments & Financial Services in support of H.B. 4266, a bill to regulate certain activities of credit repair organizations and require the organizations to provide certain notifications to potential consumers. The bill passed the committee 6-3, with the yes votes from four Republicans and two Democrats, and the no votes from two Republicans and one Democrat. The full house never considered the legislation.
