In February 2024, the U.S. Senate Banking Committee held a hearing, Examining Scams and Fraud in the Banking System and Their Impact on Consumers.
The committee heard from three witnesses:

- Mr. John Breyault, Vice President Of Public Policy, Telecommunications, and Fraud, National Consumers League
There was a prepared statement from Chairman Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and a prepared statement from Ranking Member Tim Scott (R-South Carolina).
