In 2012, the Uniform Law Commission began a study of criminal records accuracy and formed a study committee to consider whether a drafting committee should be formed to create a model state law on criminal record accuracy. CDIA objected to the study committee report calling for the creation of that drafting committee. In January 2014, the ULC decided to form the Drafting Committee on Accuracy of Criminal Records. In December 2014, the committee chairman, Bob Tennessen of Minnesota, circulated his introductory memo to the committee.
