credit.com is a leading news source for credit issues. This week, credit.com published an op-ed from CDIA responding to a recent piece on that site by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) disparaging the use of credit for employment purpose. Employers use credit for background checks because these checks help them manager risks to their businesses, to their customers, and to their other employees. Employers want to protect themselves and others. This op-ed helps clear some of the fog of confusion produced by Sen. Warren and Rep. Cohen. Their bills are S. 1981 and H.R. 3524.
